Two tons of perlemoen seized near Cape Town

Police seized two tons of perlemoen - valued at around R700 000 - from a house in Delft on Wednesday and arrested six people, Western Cape officials said.

The house was a warehouse for poached perlemoen and contained five freezers and a fridge, said Captain William Reid.

Two women, three men, and the 16-year-old son of one of the women were arrested.

They will appear in the Bellville magistrate's court on Friday.
