Impacts of current climate change in South Africa
Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk, invites the media to a briefing session on the expected Impacts of current Climate Change in South Africa at the Old Mutual Conference Centre, Visitors Centre, Kirstenbosch, Rhodes Ave., Newlands at 11:00 on Thursday 5 May 2005.
The presentation, by members of the South African National Biodiversity Institute research team, will outline recent findings on climate change impacts expected to influence the environment, agriculture, water resources, health and socio-economic developments in this country over the next 50 years.
Specific instances of expected changes in the Northern Cape, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and the country as a whole will be described.
