Belize shuts down dive shop after Columbus woman's death

Belize authorities have shut down a dive shop where a diving mishap killed an Indiana woman.

Mark Tucker led 4 people on a diving tour that left from South Silk Caye on October 22nd. Almost 3 days later, a Belize government search flight spotted the body of 28-year-old Abigail Brinkman of Columbus, Indiana.

Belize's Tour Operators Licensing Board has banned Tucker and Vance Cabral, owner of Advance Diving, from conducting tours.

Investigators said neither Cabral nor Tucker had valid tour operator licenses. Lucy Flemming, a member of the licensing board, said the lack of resources make it hard to ensure tour operators are in compliance with license requirements.
