South Africa: Scuba diver found dead at Kommetjie

A scuba diver died near Kommetjie in the Western Cape on Sunday afternoon, reported the National Sea Rescue Institute.

The NSRI's Craig Lambinon said the 35-year-old man had been found floating in the surf by a diving companion and brought to shore.

"Paramedics found he was dead when they arrived at the beach," he said.

Lambinon could not give further details, except to say that his death was likely to have been either due to a diving accident or to drowning.

Very sad news! Just what SA diving doesn't need. Condolences to the family of the deceased.
