Mexico: Zone in on your scuba diving adventure

Despite Hurricane Wilma's wrath along the Caribbean coast of Mexico, there's still plenty of diving to be done.

On Cozumel, the silver lining in Wilma's cloud is that divers will have the island to themselves for a while until the cruise ship terminals are repaired or rebuilt. In Cancun, the federal government has pledged unprecedented funds to ensure that tourists will be able to return by the new year.

And while the Riviera Maya did sustain considerable damage, the further south you go, the less damage is found. And the reports from our dive partners are promising. Boats survived, hotels remain open and everyone's diving the cenotes. And the further south you go, the less damage you'll find.

The best thing you can do to help this region is plan your next dive trip there, and soon.
