South Africa: Hunt goes on for missing scuba diver

The 25-year-old diver who went missing off Castle Rock near Simon's Town on Thursday still has not been found, said the National Sea Rescue Institute.

The NSRI's Craig Lambinon said on Thursday afternoon the diver's tank reportedly ran out of oxygen while he was diving with five other people.

The diver reportedly surfaced, aided by a friend who fed him oxygen from his tank.

"But once on the surface, his fellow divers lost sight of him and he has been missing since."

Lambinon said a surface-water search was underway.

Police divers, a navy operational diving team and Metro Rescue divers have been involved in the search since the diver disappeared at noon on Thursday.

This is a shocker. Rarely does it happen when a diver has to be searched because he/she is missing. However, the vast sea and its depthness has always a lot of traps. Searching for thr lost diver will take time. Or maybe, it won't be successful. Hope springs eternal and prayers are answered.
